Hi! I’m Kim, and I’m so happy you’re here.
Like so many, I came to yoga with a desire to transform my physicality - increase flexibility, mobility, strength, etc. However, my yoga practice quickly became my respite, helping me move through the frustrations of daily life, and leaving me feeling lighter and more alive. My curiosity to understand and hold on to this clarity and joy in my heart has lead me to diligently study and practice these sacred teachings.
At its core, yoga is a philosophy and a process to help us control the activity of our minds so we see who we truly are despite the suffering we may experience throughout our life - pain, grief, stress, conflict, anxiety, depression, etc.
For me, this secret power of yoga has become especially relevant and necessary since becoming a mother. Experiencing birth, navigating the postpartum period, and raising two children, while simultaneously pursing a graduate degree inspired my graduate research and culminating thesis project titled: Improving Postpartum Well-being with Yoga Therapy: A Case Series. Through this research and my personal experience, I have dedicated myself to sharing these teachings and practices with women as they confront the various physical, psychological, and social challenges that accompany motherhood.
Along side this, I am a certified doula & childbirth educator, who intentionally integrates yoga therapy with perinatal education and maternal care to inspire awareness, embodiment, confidence and self agency as women move through the childbirth continuum.
Finally, I am passionate about making yoga accessible for all, which has ultimately lead me toward this path as a yoga therapist. You do not have to bend in amazing shapes or even touch your toes to practice yoga. All yoga requires is your curiosity and willingness to turn inward and expand your awareness of your physical body, mind and heart. As a yoga therapist, I can come alongside you on this exploration and share what I’ve learned through my own study and practice. I look forward to meeting you!
